From Dale's Desk: Credit Unions Vs Banks
You Should Know The Difference
Thank you for your membership in Ascentra Credit Union! The Teller is a new design for our quarterly member newsletter, but our role as a credit union is still the same.
Ascentra Credit Union is all about helping our membership improve their financial lives. As a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative, we provide savings, credit and many other financial services to insure your success. When you put your money in a credit union, you immediately have a say in how it’s run. You’re an owner! Included in this month’s issue is a comparison chart between banks and credit unions.
As a member of the credit union, you’ve already experienced the Ascentra difference from other financial institutions. As an owner of the credit union it’s important that you understand the facts concerning our structure and how we differ from other financial institutions. Our industry remains under attack and as owners we must stay informed and in tune to what policy makers are doing on the national level. For that reason in March I joined other Iowa credit union leaders in Washington D.C. to advocate for you at the Credit Union National Association’s Governmental Affairs Conference.
Our staff is focused on your family’s financial success and well-being. Listening, Caring, Doing What’s Right is more than a tag line, it’s how we do things. As a member, take pride in knowing you’re making a difference and that you are the key to our success!
