Where: Ascentra Home Office – Lensmeyer Learning Center, 2019 Grant Street, Bettendorf, IA 52722
At the next Annual Meeting, there will be three positions open for volunteer board of directors. Each is a three-year term position. The voting will take place in person by paper ballot only at the Annual Meeting.
No nominations will be taken from the floor of the Annual Meeting
No absentee ballots will be accepted
The following board candidates are listed below with their qualifications:
Larry W. Ridenour
Larry Ridenour is a resident of Davenport, Iowa initially being elected to the Credit Union Board of Directors in 1991 and again in 1993 serving to present date. Larry joined Alcoa Davenport Works in 1966 retiring after 30 years as CAD CAM Programmer. Larry holds degrees in Numerical Control Programming, Computer Aided Drafting, CAD CAM Programming and Structural Dynamics Engineering. Larry is the past Chairperson of ALCOA DavPak and the 25 year club.
Larry has served in the capacity of Chairperson of the board of directors, Vice-Chairperson, Chairperson of the Credit and Audit Committees, ALCO committee, and has served as the Chief Financial Officer. Larry currently serves as the Chairperson of the Board, Executive Committee Chairperson, Staff Personnel Policies Chairperson, Board & Director Policy Updates Chairperson, Cyber Security Committee Chairperson, Ascentra Credit Union Foundation Chairperson and ALCO Committee Chairperson. Larry has additionally served on the Building, Nominating, Strategic Planning, Disaster Recovery and Marketing Committees. Larry was the recipient of the Iowa Credit Union Cooperative Spirit Award for exemplifying the spirit of the credit union industry and the communities they serve.
During Larry’s tenure on the credit union board of directors he has completed the financial achievement program and CUNA’s Professional Development Program. This experience has given him significant insight into the operation of the credit union. Larry was instrumental in forming the Ascentra Credit Union Foundation to focus on large-impact community giveback which has made a positive impact on the lives of many.
Larry believes in and supports the credit union mission, which is to provide quality financial products and services to its member-owners. Larry strives to continue using his technical and management experience to aid in the ongoing success of the credit union. Larry finds it deeply satisfying to work for the betterment of the credit union and its members. Larry is excited to play a small role in the success of this outstanding organization and the core values it offers to its members: Listening, caring, doing what’s right. Larry believes that every decision he makes needs to be done with the credit union’s core purposes and values in mind.
Laura Curtis
Davenport, Iowa resident Laura Curtis has been employed with PB Leiner, formerly known as Hormel Foods Corporation, for over 25 years. Her current position is Sr. Accounting Associate. Laura received her MBA from the University of Iowa with a concentration in strategic management and consulting and an emphasis in marketing. She received her bachelor’s of business administration from St. Ambrose University. She previously served on the Board of Directors for St. Ambrose University Alumni. Laura is originally from Dubuque.
She graduated from Andrew Community High School in Andrew, Iowa and made the Quad Cities her home in 1992. Her community involvement activities include volunteering with King’s Harvest Pet Rescue, Quad City Arts Festival of Trees and the Scott County Health Department (Tobacco-Free Campaign). Laura has been affiliated with the credit union for over 25 years. Laura currently serves on the Audit Committee, Disaster Recovery & IT Technology Committee and Cyber Security Committee.
Ken Schrock
Ken Schrock is a resident of Fort Collins, CO and first joined the credit union board in 1999 for a single term. He was appointed to the Ascentra Credit Union Board of Directors in 2017; he currently serves on the Disaster Recovery & IT Technology and Cyber Security Committee. A native of Indiana, Ken holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. He first joined Alcoa at Rockdale Texas Operations in 1991 as an Industrial Engineer after three years working for Lockheed’s Aerospace Division. He has worked as an Operations Research and Database Design Specialist at the Alcoa Technical Center in Pittsburgh, and transferred to Alcoa Davenport Works in 1998.
In Davenport, Ken has worked in all manufacturing departments and multiple disciplines including operations, supply chain, environmental engineering, quality systems, and health and safety. He currently functions as a Director for Arconic Global Rolled Products business unit, where he is responsible for global sales & operations planning. Ken and his wife Veronica have four children and one grandson.
